I think a year ago, 2 sergeants (did I spell it right?) from the Army came over to my school for a little show and tell. One of my classmates asked
him that "Do you need to go to war in you sign up for the Army?"
I was wondering the same questions too...
The 2 sergeants said "No you dont need to go to war"
and I wasn't sure if he was telling the truth.
Somebody told me that recruiters are paid to lie to enlist people...
is it the same with sergeants too?
And do you need to go to war if you in the Army?

I think the question was worded strangely, so that it may have been misinterpreted.

Do you NEED to go to war if you're in the Army? no
Do you HAVE to go to war if you're in the Army? maybe

We are currently at war (regardless of how it's portrayed), but not every single person in the Army will be going to that war. Certain people will go, and certain people will stay back in the States. Who goes and who stays is up to the Department of Defense, they are the ones who cut the orders saying which Soldiers or which Units will be going and for how long.

So basically, joining the Army will not mean you automatically go to war. There is the chance you will, but you won't need to go to war.

I hope this clears up your confusion.

Just because you join the army, doesn't mean you are required to go to war. i know people who have been in 20 or more years that have never seen combat. it basically depends on three things: 1. the state of the world, which right now is war. 2. your MOS. some are more combat oriented than others. and 3. what unit you are with. if you belong to a unit that is not scheduled to deploy, chances are you won't be either. hope that helps.

Sure I would always want to go to the Army since that time Ive Seen
"We Were Soldiers"
I always want to go and see how the Army if like.
And I also WANT to go out to war and see how its like and serve my
country.
But I just dont like to go out to war with people worried about me
and wont probaly be seeing me back...
I would be sure to go to war if I knew the fact that it would hurt really
bad...
O Well... I would still have 10 years to think about it before I make my choise...

Just Remember Jr,

Fighting is a team effort and while you might hear about all the Special Forces and Rangers(not to detract from these kick ass units, because you can't), they would be greatly hampered if they didn't get their bullets, food or paycheck that the supporting elements provide. Wherever you wind up do a kick ass job.
