I decided to join the army reserves a month ago,and realized that the past can haunt  Having a familly now and wanting to shape up I hoped the army could give me structue and dicipline. I have a d.w.i. conv. on my record, among other things, such as, driving unreg.-uninsu.,and some minor traffic violations;rolling threw a stop sign, speeding. Red Faceops:
My question is, will the army grant more than one waiver per person for someone who is not the stupid kid of years ago?
(these insidents happened between ages 16-22, I am now going on 27)

Well, I have driving uninsured/no reg/ failure to maintain vehicle resulting in accident and 2 speeding tickets and they let me right in... The DWI will cause a huge problem, dunno about a waiver for it but from what I understand, it will serously hinder it.

You'll want to talk to your recruiter about all that, but I can tell you that if you're looking to get a security clearance, those things will make it much more difficult. That's not to say that that you shouldn't disclose them, because your best bet if you wanted to get a clearance would be to let them know up front. But they do look at stuff like DWIs very seriously. Being that it's been a few years since all these incidents took place, I don't think they'd hassle you too much just to join. But like I said, talk to your recruiter, and he'll do what he can.

If those are all the law violations that you have then you will only require 1 waiver. That waiver is not that difficult either. I have done a DUI(serious offense) waiver many times. Godd luck. You arent by chance from south FL are you? The reason I ask is I was just talking to a young man in a similar situation.

Thank you all for your repleys,my question was ansawered.
By the way, F.Y.I. the recruiter told me the army will not "entertain" a waiver for a G.E.D Frowner so that is turning out to be the worst obstacle.
