I've never heard of a policy regarding medication... I guess it would depend on both the type of medication and the purpose of it. Based on what you wrote, though, it sounds fishy to me.... anyone else know anything?

You may have to get a statement from your doctor stateing why you were hospitalized, why you were on the meds, and that you are mentaly stable. They may be able to give you a waiver. Good luck!

What's the big deal? Tell'em you've been off for 12 months. Why'd you tell them in the first place? Sure, you'll have to do a physical at MEPS but they can't dig into your past medical files without your permission and they can't touch anything before your 18th B-day. If you pass the tests and physical you'll be fine....but....if you thought going through a divorce was stressful then the Army may not be the right place for you. There will be stress in the Army!

When I was getting my Top Secret Clearance (many moons ago now) they kept asking me questions about stuff that happened before I was 18 (I even had to do a stupid polygraph)....I joined when I was 17 and refused to answer any questions that were prior to my enlistment and I wouldn't give or sign them access to it either....none of their business what I did as a minor and they knew it! It says so right on the forms you fill out.

I remember pissing off the guy at MEPS who asked me if I ever did drugs. He kinda acted like all kids do drugs which pissed me off. I told him no but even if I did it was none of his business and even if I did i'd still tell him no...

If they don't like it they can always say no to allowing you in the military but you still have your rights....once you're in you are an adult and everything you do is up for grabs.

....and yes, I got the clearance.
