Okay, so here is the deal.

I've been seeing my recruiter for over a year now. He is from a city that is an hour and half drive from here and he was the only recruiter in this area up till about 3months ago.The current enlisting rate in my town is about 4 per year.

He is a reserves recruiter, but that doesn't mean he can't help me enlist active? He's helpped a few people from this area go active and the guy I recruited is going active with SGT Spears help.

The problem is, about 2months ago I got a phone call from ANOTHER recruiter who is in seaside(45min ddrive).

This recruiter is telling me because he is an active recruiter, that I should be talking to him and getting the paper work from him.

I told him right away that since I had been with SGT Spears for over a year now, that I'd just want to stay with him because he already had most my information and paper work.

SGT Montgomery then told me that he could help me when SGT Spears couldn't....aaauuuggghhh!! I'm all confused now!

So I called up my recruiter spears...He said that what the other recruiter said about helping me when he couldn't, isn't true, because once I agreed to having sgt spears help me, that's who I was going to have help and get my paper work all filled out and stuff.

SGT Montgomery said he wouldn't do the paper work or anything like that, just said he'd answer questions and make sure I can run and do all the PT stuff. He drives by my house 2 or 3 times a week anyhow, where as my recruiter I'm lucky to meet with once every 2 months or so.

Help??? Confused

As long as he's not trying to "steal" you from SGT Spears, I don't see why it would be a problem. (Anyone else correct me if I'm wrong).

It's great to be as prepared as possible before leaving for basic training, and since he's closer, you could get more help with the PT. Questions are only a phone call away, so your recruiter can help you with that, but it's sometiems hard for people to get motivated for PT and at least you'd have the help with that.

I agree with frosty. While you should be loyal to the recruiter that has vested alot of his time in you it may be prudint(sp) for you to get the "extra" help from sgt. montgomrey. When my recruiter isnt available for the weekley mock pt tests or work outs i still go with the other recruiters because it help me stay focused. And he may be able to answer some questions about active duty lfe that sgt. spears cant. good luck.

Recruiters for the Regular Army and Army Reserve wear the same badge, they go to the same school. Both are able to put soldiers into either componant.

actually it will depend on your command on whether or not RA recruiters can put in USAR and vice versa. Right now in my company you can only right the component that you are in.

Everything worked out alright now, I talked with my current recruiter and it turns out his last day as a recruiter is 2 months sooner then what they told him, so his last day is 4 March.

He's coming over this week with SGT Montgomery to get my paperwork squared away. Smiler

Everythin is cool now.
