After I graduated, a lot of guys enlisted, and they all talked about how they were going 82nd. (This is before they even left for OSUT.) Is it possible in today's recruiting process to actually request an Airborne slot, and assignment to the 82nd?

Getting in the 82nd is VERY EASY. Just go airborne, and there is a very large chance that you'll end up here, especially if you are in a combat arms MOS. If you come to the 82nd, prepare to stay here for a long time, unless you reenlist to go elsewhere.

Go to your ASK and volunteer for "airborne duty" or check out your branch's webpage...I know on the AG one, they're always asking for volunteers for airborne...Thinking of doing it myself especially since my old Plt Sgt is my branch PDNCO
