[quote:7c5c066bf0="Wolve"]Expect to lose weight if you are a heavier person, and gain weight if you are a lightweight. I went from 140 to 160 during basic. [/quote:7c5c066bf0]

How tall are you? I'm 5'9" and just under 140. Man, am I gonna bulk up or something?

I am a female and I went from 135 to 149. basicly, you lose fat, gain muscle. You may walk out wearing the same size, but, with lots of new muscle tone.

I went through FTU last summer at Fort Benning for the run, like most of us who were there. There was only one "fat" person there. The thing I didn't understand the most, but made sense, was that they would not let us run unless it was on the PT test. It will probably be about the same as when I went through last year, so here is what your schedule will look like in the event you go through-
Monday, PT Test, breakfast, PT, lunch, PT, dinner, details, time off. Tuesday, breakfast, PT, Lunch, Class, dinner, details.
Wednesday, breakfast, D&C, lunch, stretching, dinner, details.
Thursday, PT Test, breakfast, pt, lunch, pt or class, dinner, details,
Friday, breakfast, PT, lunch, PT, dinner, details.
Weekends are for the most part spent sitting around trying to stay awake.

Also, don't be afraid to ask the FTU DS's to use the cardio machines in the gym if you are really struggling with the run and the run only. I did and it is probably what got me out of there.

Hello all,
I just PCS'd out of recruiting after 7 long arduous years. Fat camp is for those who can not pass the minimum qual to continue from reception to basic. As I understand right now the recruiters are administering this at the recruiting station prior to your departure.
Once you are in Basic youare given a Diagnostice test every two weeks with the final one being for record. Trust me you will be all right. Just work very hard at what you may be weak in. Anything you do now will benefit you later.
Good luck

Imagine going in as a Marine kid, I had no troubles at all carrying myself over the line then running back to carry the rest of my platoon......

If you guys need some PT ideas, don't be afraid to ask, we can whip them together like its chocolate in a candy store(Not the best of anologies).
