Hey, what do you do if you have flat feet? I have genetic flat feet, not fallen archs, my problem is I had some inserts made awhile back because everytime I'd buy a pair of sneakers my legs would start killing me till I took them off. Though I had a pair of shoes and flat water shoes that had flat bottoms that I was fine with. I bought a new type of sneakers(2nd new pair I'm on) that have flat bottoms in, that my inserts would fit it to. Problem was that inserts kept slipping about in the shoes, became a real headache. So I took them out. Have been walking around fine without them now for a few weeks, grandfather had similar problem, kinda have resigned myself to having this chronic problem. My question is what kind of footwear are you issued(to all you flat footers in the army)? Can this dq me? Heard inserts would, but flat feet in itself wouldn't any other thoughts are welcomes as well.

Thanks

Alright, I have flat feet, although not genetic, but fallen. Wink I suggest you get professional advice from a podiatrist first, but I'll tell you what I have done. I went to a podiatrist and they specially stretched out my boots at specific areas that needed to be. (My size is hard to come by) I was given special made inserts just for me, but was told that since my feet are COMPLETELY flat...they might not be comfortable to wear and if I do feel uncomfortable wearing them...then just set them aside. It was suggest by the Podiatrist that when purchasing civilian shoes purchase the "wide" feature shoes and when getting new military boots and they feel tight...to just bring them in so they maybe stretched.

Now if you're having problems utilizing some inserts you have because they slide around your shoes as you put them on....see if a spray adhesive can be placed on the shoes first without any inserts...then place the inserts in after.
