first, i have a correction to make: in my first post on the general board discussion forum, i made the statement that i had scored an 87 on my asvab test. that was a mistake. the score was real but it was when i was in my sophmore year of high school. sorry for the confusion ops: i am trying to see if anybody out there can help me with a few questions for my recruiter. i just got back from taking my asvab in daytona beach, fl and i scored a 72, so that means that the job(s) that i wanted are available to me. now the only problem that i have is that i do not even know where to begin asking questions. if anybody out there knows what some really good questions are concerning any subject having to do with enlisting, please post a reply to my topic with the question. thank you
one more thing that i forgot to ask about is this: i just had a recruiter in the goarmy.com chat room tell me that i am barred from enlisting in the army due to the fact that i have to take addreall xr for my adhd; is this true cause if so, ive come to far to be shut down this close to the finish line! if anybody could shed some light on this topic i would greatly appreciate it very much

First off I would get the pamphlet from the recruiter that lists all the MOS's and narrow down what you want to be. Your ASVAB doesn't qualify you for everything. There are some Military Occupational Skills that require a 110. Then if your serious about joining have your recruiter take you to the MEPS station and talk to a Career Counselor. The best advice I can give you is find an MOS you want and hold out until you get it. You might have to wait in the Delayed Entry Program for awhile but it will be worth it in the long run.

And about your taking meds, that can also be answered at MEPS. You will go through a physical to see if you qualify. Even if you get disqualified for the meds you are taking you might be able to enlist later on if you are able to ween yourself off the meds.
