I am going to join the army within the next year or so and I am having trouble thinking of an MOS. If i go into 11b and go airborne would it be possible to switch to 46R? im interested in both, but the 46R can be used in the civilian world too so thats where id like to end up and spend most of my time doing

Reclasses are a possibility(sometimes a very slim possibility, but it is there) - I'm sure you would have to do a minimum tour as an 11 series before you could opt to reclass - depending on the In/Out calls at the time you want to reclass. Do you have an AKO account? If so, check out the Public Affairs forums there. I know our (46 series) branch manager reads them often, he would be a good POC.
I'm a former 25V who reclassed to 46Q so I know that it is possible but it's pretty time sensitive (right place, right time, etc...)
