How long is the drill sergeant school and how much extra a month is that once a NCO gets on the trail? Can a NCO choose where they want to drill at or is that chosen my DA depending on needs of the Army.

Drill Sergeant school is 9 weeks long. The extra pay is $375 a month. If you do go to drill sergeant school make sure that you know the drill sergeant creed, the position of attention, rest positions at the halt, and the handsalute modules before you go. Hope that this has been helpful to you.
You can push them out of a plane, you can march them off a cliff, you can send them to die on some God-forsaken rock, but for some reason you can't slap them.

For assignment it is usually dictated by DA but while in school you might find someone to swap with if they are the same grade, sex, and mos

I am scheduled to report to DSS in May. I'm Infantry, how much of a guarantee do I have to report for duty at Ft. Benning upon completion of DSS? Is there a way that my family can PCS while I'm at DSS? We are having some family issues and I need to have my wife at Benning by June 1st. I have talked to one of the guy at the DS team at branch, and they said they dont know how much they can help. I am trying to submit a 4187 requesting re-assignment prior to attending DSS, but dont know if that is the best course of action. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Your chances of Benning is... Well, to let you know, the average basic training company will be about 1/3 infantry, 1/4 female, and the rest any MOS. Benning, Knox, and Sill are the three with strictly male basic battalions. Leonard Wood and Jackson are gender integrated. You won't be told your duty station until about two weeks to graduation. If you're told you're getting Sill or Knox, rest easy and try for a swap to Benning. Other than that, I'd advise you to make the best of it and for heaven's sake: IT'S BETTER FOR THE PRIVATES TO GOSSIP THAT YOU'RE SO CLOSE TO YOUR FEMALE BATTLE BUDDY THAT THEY THINK Y'ALL SLEEPING TOGETHER THAN A HINT THAT A FEMALE SAID YOU TOUCHED HER INAPROPRIATELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not trying to scare you, but you'll have a more positive investigation result than the automatic "guilty" verdict.
