Yes, ghostface_48, your math is right. I don't think hallad1974 did it right, he used March's score instead of August.
I did the math with mine and got: Avg 46Q E-5 PZ cutoff: 471 471*6=2826 2826-420(aug)-390(july)-483(june)-546(may)-564(apr)=423(proj sept cutoff)
I have way more than enough to make that, so I'm really wanting the scores and list to come out already. I don't think it'll happen today, it'll probably be out Monday at the very latest.
wow this is an old thread! lol whell i hope the formula works. 45K sittin at 551 and with this cutoff score formula (c) lol it should drop to 444 for me this month avg 596 3576-3132=444
just hope the points come out soon. good luck to all of you inpatient people like me readin this thread.
I just did the formula this morning for 19K, and I got 657. Just checked the scores and they were 658!! I guess unless you had 6 months of being at 798, it works.
yes i made a error with my calculation, i should have started with april to august... i heard the the scores are out now but i can't pull up HRC. guess i find out later
I was only a few points off to. But I still made it at 503. So what is it like 8 months or something like that I get to go for SSG. Cant wait......Hopefully my name should be on the by name list in a few days..I don't see any reason why they would not be...The points are on my ERB. I have more than enough. And I got them in at the beginning of the month.
Provided you have the TIS requirement already, you can board for SSG in your primary zone nine months after your effective date of rank for Sergeant.
Used to be eight months, but with the updated release of AR 600-8-19, effective 1 April 2008, points become active the month after you go to the board, so your board appearance is one month later.
For secondary zone you can go to the board as quickly as four months after your effective date of rank for Sergeant, provided you meet the secondary zone TIS requirement of 47 months (for the board appearance, 48 months for effective date your points become active).

Ok..Thanks... I have some time to work with then.......Chasing down these points has actually became fun...I like to have something to work for........I was a E2 about this time last year........
To fast lol no way...... When you are above average at your MOS, won a few boards, demonstrate great leadership ability's (thanks to the marines), get a few awards, set you self apart from all your piers and even some NCO'S, should I keep going lol. I am like the Michael Phelps of supply and everyone I work with knows that. Besides I can say I have earned every single rank I have. But then people wanna bit$$ when soldiers don't do this. And when the do all this stuff the wanna hate because they feel like they getting promoted to fast. I have some good leadership. Who took time to see the potential.
Looks like I made it, too, but I'll believe it when I see it on the list when it comes out.
I can see where you're coming from, ghostface_48, though you sound a little pretentious in saying so. I wholeheartedly agree that good leadership goes a long way in professional development. Naturally, when Soldiers seek to advance themselves, the first person they look to is their first-line supervisors. If those people are of good character and recognize potential when they see it, then the promotion process flows so much faster.
Points in my MOS were always low, but I've been waiting for my promotion since I became eligible April last year. My last unit had little intention in promoting me at all, even when my team leader was reduced to SPC after a DUI and driving w/out a license (only three months after she was promoted) and somebody had to step up. Finally, I PCS and my XO sees my potential in the assignments I've completed. He decides to initiate the process once again. Four months later, here I am waiting for the list and Sept. 1 to roll around. Looks like you've been waiting awhile, too. Congratulations to you and everyone else who made it.
