I recall that a few of us have been promoted in the last month. Have you guys seen your rank take effect yet?

I talked to a career counseler about reenlisting earlier this week, and he said I should wait until my rank shows up on paper before we start the process. Right now, my ERB and LES (came out today, BTW) both list me as E-4, and my promotion orders aren't in my OMPF yet. I called the enlisted promotions clerk about it and he said I shouldn't be worrying about it. He said it's a long paper-shuffling process at DA and it'll be processed eventually.

Is he right? If so, when should I start being concerned? If not, what can I do to fix it? I already initialed two C-10 rosters, one before and one after my promotion date. There's a bonus involved; it's not a big bonus, but my wife and I have a plan to manage and invest it. Thoughts?

So you got promoted last month? It should have shown up on your ERB. Do you have the promotion orders? I think mine took like a month to show up on my OMPF.

My effective date of promotion on my orders is Sept. 1. I used the orders to get my new CAC, and the civs there said the promotions clerk should have my orders and be taking care of it. So should I see the changes in my ERB and OMPF pretty soon? I assume I'll be backpaid for the month since my promotion when everything's changed, right?

I also got promoted on Sept 1, and my ERB reflected it about 3 days later. No reason why it should take almost a month like yours is doing. Good luck!

hell no that promotions clerk just wanted you out of his office, there is no paper shuffling at DA, if you made cut off and you were on the by name list then your local MPD cuts the orders and hands them down to your BDE and so until it reaches your Company level S1/PAC/Orderly Room...

You should have gotten paid E5 pay as of the 15th...you should have had your orders (do you have any hard copy?) before the 1st of the month...

Here's just an FYI update on my situation: on the first of this month I called the clerks in AG and they had my ERB squared away. I followed up with a call to finance the next week just to make sure I was showing up at E-5 in their system, and I was. This morning I got a fat paycheck with compensation for the time since my DOR. So, I guess the lesson is that the system works, but sometimes it needs to be nudged along a bit.
