That's talking about the automatic list integration for promotion which has been going on for several years. What you saw in the Army Times wasn't describing the new promotion system.

so has this new promotion system taken effect or is there a date if it hasn't...

so what are the changes supposed to be? Just curious because I am awaiting the points to drop to get promoted

Can anyone send me the new points system? Also, I need to know are promotable Soldiers gonna be "grandfathered" in under the new system. I might be shy this month or next and I dont know how thats gonna play out for Soldiers like me.

I lose points under this new system or so it seems. About 100 or so and that sucks!!! SSG is going to take me a while!!!

I need the new points system as well so I can post it up at work. This system will help some and hurt some. Either way it goes I still want out of my MOS.

This is the link for S-1 net not sure how many of you have seen this yet but it has a break down of the new promotion system that is going to take effect in 1 OCT. Most of the questions asked on here are answered on there by the people actually make the decisions on all this stuff. After looking at a lot is going to change. How ever its just proposed none of its final. I know there no more board points just go/no go. And no more commanders points only recommendations. Military training and Military education make up a lot of the points. Hope this helps

With this post and im not sure if anyone else is thinking the same way but this system is DIMHRS www.dimhrs.mil which will be the new system for managing HR including Military pay, promotions(for certain ranks), and updating alot of personal information in your files. This system will have a self help section where you can upload stuff for personal actions and be able to track it from your account to see where its currently sitting and so forth. While this system may help an individual soldier to update there information DIMHRS was originally started in 1995 and has just been pushed back many times so i doubt that it is the cause or the wait for the new promotion system. As of now though DIMHRS is set to take effect march 1 which you can tell by the countdown on their website with trial runs before that to make sure all the bugs are worked out.
