It's really annoying how frequently topics turn nasty these days. We should all take care to remember that it is much easier to misunderstand something someone wrote, than what they say. Take a second to re-read or confirm that what the person is saying is actually what they mean. I actually post much less frequently know because I've gotten tired of arguing.

The study guide is written by volunteers. It may not have the best grammar, and some of it may be incorrect, but these guys stepped and worked for the benefit of you and your soldiers.
The ASG has several advantages over traditional guides: 1. The information is usually reflects the most current Army policy (other guides are only published every year or so). Is there any book out there that even mentions FM 6-22? 2. It's free. 3. ASG provides a plethora of resources including links to official sites, career sites, education sites, and this board (one of the best professional resources available to today's soldier). 4. The past 3 boards I've been to and many other's that I've discussed with soldiers came up with their questions from the ASG. Many copied the questions directly. While by no means official, this is THE SITE for finding board questions.
The guide of course is not without faults. The pdf and audio versions are not as up to date as the online version. They are harder to update and the guy responsible is busy soldiering just like the rest of us.
I agree with Doshaza. People need to Wuusaaaaaa a bit before they go ahead and reply to something! Wuuusaaaa...wuusaaa....
I'm very greatful for ASG and keeping things up to date like they have been! Before I joined and left for BCT, I was better prepared for training and a lot of things didn't feel like a surprise when I got there! Thanks ASG!!

We seriously need to stop capping each other, for lack of better wording. We are here to help each other and disagreements should be handled in private messages or explained tactfully in the threads.
As for the issue of the studyguide. At every single board I've been to, recorded for and attended, the board members have used the ASG. For every single update there are dozens of corrections made, and honestly spelling errors aren't high up on the list of importance. I will ask Admin to review the next update for spelling, but it will up to his discretion whether he allows me to do so or not.
It is funny how I can walk down the hall and see the Career Counselor use Armyreenlistment.com (Armyreenlistment's website) and see messages posted everywhere with the Armystudyguide and Armyreenlistment footnotes. Be proud of being part of this community and helping people. Instead of listing your problems and gripes all the time use your MOS expertise to help out those that ask questions.

OK look, I can care less about spelling and grammar. I didn't emphasize on it to the point where it's the only problem I have. But I did brought up two other points, and those where missing information and incorrect information. Let's forget what I said about spelling and grammar because it's not like you're gonna spell it all out during the board. And yes, you're right, a lot of CSM and SGM use the ASG on their boards and that's why seeing these errors bothers me because a soldier will trust what's on the ASG (instead of referring to the actual FM and AR). I almost believed that the NCO creed was correct in the ASG until Go Ordnance brought it up. Now what if my soldier were to recite the NCO creed and embarassed himself in front of the CSM because he believed what he got from the ASG was correct?
Though it has been rewritten in different ways, the NCO Creed still begins its paragraphs with those three letters: N-C-O.
TC 22-6 had it as "tactically and technically". FM 7-22.7 which supersedes TC 22-6 has "technically and tactically". DA Pam 600-25 has "tactically and technically".
Therefore, either is correct as it is written differently in 2 current Army publications.
I'll try to make some changes to account for this.
Cynic you are absolutely right. The studyguide's content is from all of us and sometimes there is information wrong in it. This is when we have to go and report the wrong information so that it can be corrected. I personally haven't read through the guide in a while now to check for errors in content, but it is important that all of us do check the information that is in it. Send a message to admin with corrections/updates to the guide or if you would like to add a question that you feel should be added.
