I am a volunteer for this great organization, and my family was a recipent of this groups efforts when my husband was deployed to Iraq for 2 years. We adopt units and soldiers by sending them care packages and mail, as well as providing support for family of deployed military, helping our wounded warriors and their families, supporting the families of fallen soldiers and more. If you'd like more info, our site is www.soldiersangels.org

Thanks!

As a past recipient of this kind of generosity, I would like to thank you from myself and the medical company I served with. You made our lives a bit easier while we were away. Thanks again.

I've had this idea for a while, but no real means to make it a reality. Here it is anyway so that maybe someone else can use it:

Care packages for the Iraqi troops. Treats and stuff to say that we're proud of you for volunteering to defend your new government in the face of terror and sectarian violence. I think it would have a deep impact on the Iraqi's morale.
