Operation AC started out sending air coditioners overseas to troops. Here is some asic info from their site:

Operation AC has raised $2,876,392.00 and has sent 9,400 air conditioners, 14,500 heaters and $1,856,097.00 in Morale, Welfare and Recreation supplies to US troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. We also support our Coalition partners and are the only organization of our kind who does. We have supported troops from El Salvador with $64k in supplies, Kazahkstan $10k in supplies and Estonia with $7.5k in supplies. We are now in process of sending full-sized Christmas trees and new combat boots to US troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan for Christmas for the consecutive 3rd year. Operation AC was started and is run by US Army soldier's family (5 people) out of need during his deployment in OIF1.
Operation AC has suspended sending air conditioners to our troops as of 9/1/05. We have a new Coalition Care package that we send to our troops.
