I will be there in about 6 weeks. What i am looking for is recommended rentals for the area. Prefer a house, but I know they may not be plentiful. Need an idea on utility rates, internet, cable, approx. rental cost etc.
I am currently stationed at Campbell. I would also reccomend buying a house. Depending on what you are looking for, you will be spending the same amount on rent as you would on a mortgage payment. Most people I know only pay about $600-$750 a month for their mortgage. That's about what you will make in BAH.

Me and my wife are PCSing TO Campbell Soon and Im wondering if the unit thats in are ERB is where were going or is it just replacement. Mine is 0159 AVAV HHC REPL and my wifes says 02 0101 AB 2D UA REPL FT CAMPBELL KY
Also does anybody know what units work on COMSEC. Im a 94E(Radio Comsec Repair and would like to learn the Comsec part of my job prior to putting in my warrent packet.
I CANT ANSWER THAT ONE BECAUSE I HAVE HAD THAT ON MY ERB AND WHEN I GET TO RECEPTION THEY HAVE TOTALLY CHANGED IT DEPENDING ON WHERE THEY NEED THEM. I KNOW THAT BSB'S HAVE 94E'S. SO ANY SUPPORT BATTALLION OR SPECIAL TROOPS BATTALLION CAN HAVE THEM.
Just doing what it takes to get my butter bar.

Keep in mind OPSEC but I'm headed to Campbelll and was wondering what thei deployment schedule is like. Mostly I just wan to make sure we have everything squared away before I leave. Any websites available.
Ok, I HOPE to be PCSing to FT Campbell in the near future. I've read through the threads and have yet to find a good place to rent in FT Campbell other than "Lexington village town homes in Clarksville, TN. Is a pretty good place for renting". I will be buying a home after I sell my current one but don't want to be burdened with 2 mortgages (does that make any sense?). So.... What areas are best for living around Fort Campbell? I am married and will have 2 dogs, and 1 kid with another on the way so I am looking for a safe and quiet neighborhood with decent schools. Any suggestions?

army life 18, The 101st is deployed right now with about february having the last BCT coming back. With what's on your ERB, it looks like you have Pinpoint orders to the Aviation Unit (Not 160th sorry) and your wife just has orders to Ft. Campbell replacement. You really won't know until you get there. But I am stationed at Ft. Campbell and I know that there is a 159th Aviation unit here. Either way both of you will report to Ft. Campbell replacement when you get to post. And trust me when Division gets back it is not pretty. This will be the second time that I got back from a deployment and only have a couple months before redeployment of division. It sucks!!!!!!!!

You have pinpoint orders to 159th AVN, while your wife has orders bringing her to replacement...which is like a 10 day program and very very slow. I was at campbell for a year and hated every minute of it, although I was in a transportation BN with a QM company instead of a "good" unit. Seems like the CSM had a grudge for our company and had us at least 95% tasked every month. The same CSM that refused to send me to the BDE NCOQ Board because I wasn't air assault qualified, which she wasn't either. On top of that my 1SG didn't send anyone to air assault school for 8 months so I never got a chance to go.
It all depends on what unit you go to, I heard 159th is actually a pretty good unit. When 101st comes back there will be a lot of problems going on around post because it seems like the soldiers don't know how to act and the NCOs let them do it.
DoubleDuece,
If you want a nice area I suggest looking at the houses at the eastern part of Tiny Town Road, they are away from campbell but within a 15-20 minute drive and it's a pretty nice area. Anything to the south of 101st parkway is the bad area and down stateline road is a bunch of trailer parks. Oak Grove seems like a crappy town to live in also. Hopkinsville KY is the closest after clarksville and Oak Grove, but I have also heard bad things about that town.

As far as living places...stay away from NEW PROVIDENCE that place is the ghetto of Clarksville. Safe bets are Tinytown Rd, Trenton Rd, & Kenwood Subdivision. But these are a 15-30 min drive away. Most will drive that distance to get away from post. right now the post is empty but be prepared for traffic from hell and lack of available housing both on and off post once the Div redeploys in the coming months.

I just left campbell in may. I would recommend staying out of Oak Grove. It is kind of trashy. A good area is on Tiny Town Rd. in clarksville. They are building new houses there everyday it seems in that area, and you can find some descent houses for a descent price. The schools in that area are pretty good for the most part.
