I am a SPC(P), 68W1P, assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division since April 2003. I just reclassed to 68W through the BEAR program and was sent back to the 82nd. My ETS is is 14 MAR 2010. Can someone please tell me how I can get orders assigning me to Ft. Hood, Ft. Bliss, Ft. Lewis, Ft. Eustis, Korea, or Kuwait? I would really like to see another post.

Considering the 4 BCT's will be deployed soon, you might be in the same boat as me and can't put in a 4187 to get transferred out due to the "Fenced Unit" thing. I just found out about that recently. If you're within your re-enlistment window, you can probably try that option.

1. call you branch is you only choice at this time if you reenlist under the BEAR program to change MOS all ready is to late if you report to 82nd all ready the only choice that you have is to call you branch and ask to deploy whit any other unit have 4187 ready to fax them.

Thanks for all the feedback. I just reenlisted two months ago, so I'm not in my window yet. My unit is fenced right now, sorry that I didn't mention that. I was really trying to find out what I can do to leave once they get back in a few months. If I call branch and volunteer to deploy with another unit, does that mean they'll actually assign me to that unit, or will I just be attached to them and return to Bragg after deployment?

Originally posted by SSG Airborne!!: why dont you cross over to the SOF Community there. There is group and 112th and even JSOC. Trust me you will like that alot better than the 82nd

Thanks for the feedback. I haven't checked this thread in a long time. I called branch to try to get Korea, but I was told I was fenced until 90 days after my unit returns in November '07. I've considered flight medic school, but I don't want to take the risk of completing the school and being assigned to some aviation unit on Bragg.
