Ok, here's my situation... I'll try to keep it brief:
I originally came down on PCS orders to Kuwait with MiTT team duty in Iraq. I was originally stationed in a garrison unit at Ft Myer, VA, and that's where my family is still residing.
During TT training at Ft Riley, it was decided that I was non-deployable, due to one of the medications that I'm prescribed. I got stuck being unofficially "attached" to one of the local Bns here, awaiting what was supposed to be having my PCS to Kuwait orders rescinded.
I ETS next Sept 09, so considering terminal leave, I have just short of a year left. I don't plan on reenlisting or extending.
Instead of having my orders rescinded, branch is apparently trying to put me on orders to be PCSed here at Riley. My tentative report date is 10 Oct, upon which time I'll officially have less than a year left before I ETS.
Can they PCS me with less than a year left? Would they require me to reenlist? Where would I go/ what would happen to me if I went ahead and signed a DCSS (Dec) statement, since I'm only TDY here at Riley, not PCSed.
I'm still trying to get a hold of branch and clear up some of this confusion, but my efforts appear to lead to nothing but a constantly ringing phone.
Any advice on this would be appreciated.

PCS with less than a year? You'd have to extend to make the year..even if they made you do that, it's kinda of a waste of govt money. I think if you sign a DEC statement, you will not be able to reenlist but I'm not an expert on that one

Yeah, I'd sign the Dec statement just because I don't want to reenlist. If you come down on orders with a minimum service remaining requirement, you have to either extend/reenlist to meet the requirement or decline the option. AFAIK, it causes a bar to reenlist. THat doesn't matter to me, as I don't want to reenlist anyway.
Right now my main question is if/when I sign the Dec statement, where am I going to go? Will I somehow stay here in TDY or will I go back to the unit from which I outprocessed in the process of getting here?
