I just got done reclassing from 25F to 25B and now I am going to A447 Sig Bn. (which is the same unit that I was attached as a NON-IET soldier.) However I don't think there are any positions for a 25B there. Does anyone know what is going on with the structure there? The 411 that I got from one of the Drill Sergeants there is that some time in November all the Drills are going to be headed to a BCT if they have like 2 1/2 years left on the trail. For those that don't have that much time left, they are going to be taking off the hat and just becoming Sgts... but doing the same job. I'm a SSG and don't know what I am walking into. Any help?

They have been talking about getting rid of Drill Sergeants at AIT for a couple of years now, I don't see it really happening. I would imagine you will probably just be working in the BN automations shop.

At Huachuca it's supposed to be the real deal - effective 01 January. And someone that used to work in my section stopped by on leave after DS school and that is the info they are distributing there. Not sure of the validity, but they seem for real this time.

If you are coming to A447 as permanent party, you will more than likely be either a PSG for the MOS-Ts, or work in the S-2/3 shop. I was cadre there for a while untill 2 weeks ago, now I am a student. Fun fun!
