Howdy. I have assignmet instructions for next year (July 09), however, I want to see if I can get this date moved back approximately 25 days to 1 August 2009. I've been told it's just a 4187 to HQ DA... but I've got no idea what goes in there. I'd ask my S-1 but we're deployed and I'm nowhere close to them.

Did you reenlist for the assignment? If so, get with your CC and reqeust a deferment up to 90 days. If you did not reup for the assignment then a 4187 through your chain of command is what is needed requesting the deferment.
