Isnt she with you? Reserve units are everywhere she should be assigned to whatever reserve unit is closest to you. Probably at Ft Polk because there are reserve units at almost every major military installation. I wouldnt bet on being moved because your wife joined reserves. Now if she went active duty and it was time for you to PCS then you could more then likely get pcsd to wherever she gets stationed. Thats what they are telling us here anyways. Take care.

Well this all hinges really on where she is? She can join the reserve wherever she is so really she needs to move to you and just get a reserve job there. It will save the hassle. Plus location dictates what MOS she can have because you know different units at different locations. If she goes active they try to work with you and youll need to sign a macp form before she leaves the recruiting station. But thats out of my lane im sure one of our vaunted highspeed recruiting guys will poke in here shortly and correct any false ignorant info ive fed youWinkBut what I would do...........is have her move to you first then join reserves your life will be easier. Until she deploys. Then your in suckage land. Hope this helps.

I would think since you are aleady in, she would be placed wherever YOU are...not the other way around. I'm not sure how the Reserves work, but when I signed Active, I was already married to my husband, who was also Active. I told the recruiter I wanted Germany, b/c that's where he was. I also told them this at MEPS and the only thing it said on my orders was Europe. I didn't want to sign until it said Germany, but this didn't happen. When I got to Germany, my husband and his supervisor met me at the Replacement center and harrassed the PFC doing the orders until they put me close to him. Only when I got to the unit was I able to do a 4187 to enter MACP and get joint domicile. Is she talking a recruiter?
