The ONLY way to know for sure if you would qualify for a compassionate assignment is to apply for it. I would say YES, you have reason to apply and be accepted. Talk with Tricare and/or Army hospitals and find out where your daughter needs to be. Then have your (or a) doctor write a letter that says that is where your child MUST be for treatment. ACS or EFMP can help with paperwork- and/or find a trusted NCO/Officer. It's not that hard, I filled it out by myself. -DON'T LET the Chain of Command take forever on it. It should be approved or disapproved by the first O-5 in your chain of command then forwarded to DA.. Good luck!

Have you tried Shriners Hospital there? One of our daughters had problems that the orthopedic department at Tripler were kind of laid back about treating as they weren't really trained in pediatrics. We submitted an application to Shriners and received answers and the best care. Our daughter continues to be treated by them 10 years later as we have PCSd elsewhere. Our daughter was enrolled in EFMP before we PCSd to Hawaii as that is mandatory so the whole situation was frustrating.
