My husband is starting special forces training, and we are leaving ft. lewis and going to bragg in about a month. Neither one of us have ever been there, we have a one year old baby and are really concerned about finding the "nice area" there, so ANY help is appriciated! thanks
There's a town called Hope Mills, it's not too far from post and there are a lot of nice neighborhoods there. There's also a nice little suburb called MacDougle Downs, pretty nice area too. Fayetteville aka Fayettenam is the city the houses Ft.Bragg. It's an okay town, but stay off the murk, ask anyone who's been at bragg for awhile about the murk, you just don't go unless you're strapped. The post is pretty big and the surrounding areas are decent. In the end it's all what you make it. You've got a one year old so you don't have to worry about too much yet. However Fayetteville has one of the highest teen pregnancy rates in the state, just a little food for thought. If you're into hunting, fishing, or just all kinds of outdoor activities, you can get your fill in N.C. You've got mountains to your west, lots to do out there. N.C. is a pretty good spot, geographically, you get all four seasons, however snow is rare, so when it snows they tend to shut down post and all schools. I could go on for days, I grew up in that area so it's home for me, but if you have any concerns about a specific area feel free to PM me.
