Hubby & I just left after 3 years. It's nice & the area is very pretty. You'll be surrounded by history: Colonial Williamsburg, Historic Jamestowne, Civil War battlefields, Naval history, etc.
As far as the base, it's small & easy to get around. The PX is pretty small, but the commissary is pretty good.
If there's something specific you'd like to know, just ask.
Thanks, Apache Wife

I've been here for about three months, and my family loves it. Beaches are close, busch gardens as well, and as the other post stated there is a lot of history in this area. We live in Hampton, which is not a bad area at all. We handle all personal business at Langley AFB which is also nice as well.As far as the base, it's not a bad deal. A lot of politics just like any other TRADOC base. All in all, not a bad place to be stationed. You should enjoy your tour here.

I have been in Fort Eustis for two years now, and I love it so much...The post itself is not that big and you can eventually find everything easily. I am currently assigned to 8th Trans BDE, where we train officers & LTs. I know for sure 7th Group usually get deployed. VA beach is like 45min away from post and Busch Gardens is like 25min away. Hope these few infos helps.. Good Luck!
