Ok, here is my situation right now. I came down on a PCS assignment to Fort Hood with a reporting date of 10 June 08. I submitted my 29 days of PCS leave to my company about 2 months ago. It was approved. I am supposed to start my leave on the 12 May, but I still haven't received my orders. I was supposed to start clearing a couple of days ago. I cannot clear without them orders. On top of that, Last month I put in my 30 day notice to vacate my house that I am renting. They want my orders for the military clause. I have to be out of this house by the 5th of May. The unit left me to believe that I would get my orders on time but now I might have to stay in a hotel longer than I was expecting. I am trying to find a format for a memo that I can type up and get it signed by my commander for real estate. Since they could not get me my orders in time, I need to do a memo up to take place of the orders. Can anyone help?

Go to your Reassignment/Levy section ASAP. They are generally the ones who send the orders to your unit S1. To give you a picture, my orders were ready 1 month prior to my PCS leave start date, and I went and picked them up myself. My unit S1 went and got my orders from reassignment 13 days prior to my departure. Thankfully I already had them.

I would undoubtedly go there first, and explain to them the situation. I'll let others chime in on your living situation, though. Best of luck.

I have gone to the transition/reassignment office twice already. They basically gave me an attitude and told me go through my S-1. I even played the whole dumb founded soldier role and even explained tried to explain to them my situation on the second go around. Every day that I ask my S-1 the status of my orders, they always reply with, "they are being worked on right now". I am losing my patience.

What kind of S-1 Do you have. Try talking to youre commander or 1SG. As you most likely know you are a little short on time.

I was in a similar situation a few years ago. My PSG had me call IG. I had my orders by the end of that day. Just throwing it out there as an option. Good luck.
