I'm going to be stationed at Ft. Rucker in a few months and wanted to get some feedback about the post. I plan on staying in post housing so that its more convinient for my wife and daughter. My other question is about housing for senior enlisted. I am an E-7 so I will be getting senior enlisted housing. Whatever that means. Nicer I hope. But when I graduate WOCS will I have to move? Would it be worth while living off post?
The houseing for E7 and E1 are the same, only thing is that you may get a 3 bedroom. there is not much to Fort Rucker. or off post. If you are going to WOC School. you will be staying there with them and you family will be in houseing. If you are going to flight school, your best bet is to buy or rent a house. Houses do not cost much there and they are new. I bought a house and I rent it out to flight students. well anyway I would live off post if I was you, I did and I liked it a lot better. Good luck

Thanks for the info. I was thinking of buying a house just to invest. Plus I figured I'd end up back there at some point. The website says that the new housing is duplexes for E1 to E6 and single homes for E7 and above and officers. Anyways, would you happen to know how the schools are off post? I have a four year old going into kindergarden and thats my wifes main concern.
