My husband and I are PCSing to Huachuca very soon. He'll be an instructor. A friend of mine who is instructing BNOC right now says both spouses will not be instructors since they will both fall in the same platoon. My question is what else is over there? It'll be strange being away from INSCOM and into TRADOC.
So I graduated from AIT last tuesday and got my orders. Ft.Huachuca here I come! 11th SIG BDE. Does anyone have anything to say bout Huachuca? I'm excited, because it's only a day and half drive to my house from there.

I loved Huachuca, but I was in AIT then, and it has been a few years. It's a reasonably nice base in a reasonably nice area. Not a particularly exciting place to live, but Mexico is only 30 minutes away or so, and Tucson is approximately 1 hour north. It gets nice and cold in the winter, and in the summer gets almost as hot as Tucson does. High elevation and plenty of hills, so if you're into running, it's awesome.
And 11th Signal Bde hopefully still has an awesome chow hall.
Thanks Trayve, I got here the second of January...The Thunderbird defac is not to shabby. defac 6 back at ft.gordon was better, but not goin' to complain!
As far as exciting...well...I freaking love the outdoors and Sierra Vista is HUGE in comparison to my home town. I am very happy to have this as my first duty station.
Running though...well that is a different subject. I like breathing while I run, and that is something that doesn't really happen all to well here!! I grew up at sea level, so it's really bustin' my butt with the elevation!
