True infantry life is garrison, garrison, garrison and in the field. I have been in the infantry for 2 1/2 years. You will spend most of your time in your company building, wandering when you will do something interesting and cool. Sometimes you will do some things like learning about new weapons, practicing first aid, working on battle drills or identifying military vehicles and air craft while other times you will sit in your company building waiting for your team leader/squad leader to tell you what is going on. PT every day is something that will push you. There are questions all the time and training to be done. 55% of the time you are sitting around, 45% you are training.
A typical day in the Infantry all depends on your unit, your leadership, and your status. In garrison you will spend the majority of your time as an NCO finding things for your soldiers to do. If your lower enlisted you will spend most of your time trying to steer clear of your NCOs. A lot of playstation and Xbox. In the field you will do your battle drills, over and over again. There will be a practical exercise or live fire and you will go recover. If your in a good unit you will PT above and beyond army standards. If your deployed... well thats a whole different blog
