I just got back from Benning where I turned my son blue, watched his graduation & saw him off to Jump School. His class will have a two week course due to the cadre jumping on Normandy 6 June for the D Day commemoration. They will have all the training necessary but might not get a night jump in. Might be an interesting idea to permanize that course. Be able to get more people parachute qualified, some who might not be able to get there otherwise.
Top out.

So, the poor kid has to endure that 2 weeks of hell and not reap the fruits of those stupid chopped tire pits?

I salute him for his dedication.

I don't think he's going to miss one iota of anything that BAC has to offer. Just earlier starts & later finishes with no time off in between. I feel they'l probably have the same number of hours of instruction only in a shorter time frame. I sure hope he doesn't find BAC hard as he's going to RIP right after. I was a Navy SEAL before I went Army & gave him hell week every day when he decided to go into the Army. He claims he was dissapointed that Infantry OSUT wasn't harder. He wrestled all through grade school & high school & much to the chagrine of his teammates I was the head coach in grade school & asst. coach in H.S. He's also a national Judo champ( I coach that too LOL). His work ethic is right up there & he does pushups & crunchers during commercials when watching TV. I'm very proud of him as I just set his course of direction & guided him but the real work was accomplished on his own. An army brat through & through.

I think everything could be done in two weeks.

I had a four day weekend in the middle of mine so I had 8 days of training before my first jump. Jump 5 times in 2 days and there's your two weeks.

lol

LOL,
I've got 2 older daughters. My son is 8 years younger than my youngest daughter. He was sort of a late life surprise. He thinks he can kick my ass & probably can in a [i:fb4c8b41e3]fair[/i:fb4c8b41e3] fight. I don't play dat game, LOL.
His RIP class has officially started on 1 July but that was for admin purposes. They have the 4th of July weekend off until 6July at 1800 then the fun begins on the 6th!

I need to get myself to Ranger school....

I'm suppose to start JumpMaster on Monday, but they're not definate on my hard slot.

I'm pushing back PLDC for this because I've been trying to get my unit to send me since October.

Don't put off PLDC for too long though...i know guys that lost promotions doing stuff like that and it took time to catch back up.

Good luck on everything!!

You should do that as soon as you can, so you don't have to worry about it.

You won't loose your E5 promotion for that anymore. They did away with that. I only have to make sure I get through the class before next summer when I should be going up for my E-6.

If I make it through JumpMaster school first try... then my next priority is of course PLDC. Definately so I don't have to worry about it.

Yes, for now you need PLDC to compete for E6, BNCOC for E7 and ANCOC for E8 but once the OPTEMPO slows down you know they'll go back to the way it was.
