DO NOT post explicit information on units deploying in the next 6 months.

stars and stripes and army times lists the units leaving w/ about a one month window, and that's open source.

about to come back and deploying in 6 months is a pretty wide range. Plus all you do is request a post, so its an easy answer. Plus as those of us who got extended to 15 months know, things change all the time with a day's notice anyway. 172nd out of Alaska had signed over their equipment to 3-2ID for their riptoa and had unit members back in the states when they got extension orders.

basically, if you're infantry and requesting posts then.
Korea: Won't deploy
Ft. Irwin: Won't deploy

both of these areas have had units deploy, but I don't believe there is currently a plan for them to. I can't think of a single other area that won't deploy soon or come back from a deployment soon.

I wish you would just re-enlist already so these threads can die.

That's not the point. But how about we don't make ArmyStudyGuide.com another place to go check up on unit deployments.

Stars and Stripes and the Army Times list pretty genaric unit descriptions. They don't say "the 502nd MP Co of the 33rd MP BN, 89th MP BDE will deploy to Baghdad, Iraq on June 10th, 2040. They'd say the 89th MP BDE, and June 2040. That doesn't specify subordinate units in the command. They might say 82nd ABN DIV, or 2nd ID.

All I'm saying is that it wouldn't be a good idea for a soldier to come on here and say "Hey, I'm in 2nd Platoon, 33rd ENG whatever, and we're deploying in DEC."

What you think might not be a big secret might be to someone else. Remember that exact re-deployment dates are classified, so you are treading the gray line.
