11ban ban. First one in and last one out. Lots of running, push ups and sit ups. Remember one thing. When you have no ammo your bayonet breaks then you better know how to fight to suvive. Any martial arts is good to know when you're planning to be a grunt.

Oh well, it's all good. 8)
Thats where most fights end up, on the ground, so it's best to be good at that.
do what the Drill Sgt. tell you to, take care of your feet (marching and running beats them up), and LISTEN to instructions!
The best time I had at Ft. Benning was getting stuck on KP. The civilian in charge of the mess hall was a retired MSG. He promptly put me and another private to work painting the mess hall. Nothing nicer than using a paint roller on a wall, and seeing the roaches fall from behind the wood paneling!

Just remember the Army isn't forever, don't bust yourself up trying to be too hooah, I got a lot of buddy's in their 20's that were really hooah, and they walk around like their 80 years old, lol. The infantry is like no other, I was a line medic for a good while and there is absolutely a brotherhood among infantry men, paratroopers especially (at least that's what I think). Work hard, and take care of the man to right and left. You learn some pretty cool combatives training, as they say most fights end up on the ground, although I'm a firm believer if you shoot well enough, you won't have to get your uniform dirty rolling over on the ground with the enemy, eh. Good luck, and take care of your doc, he might have to save your ass someday.
Yeah I am walking around like I'm 80 and I'm only mid 30's. I have had one back sugery so far. That's Light Infantry for ya.
