I am currently in germany on a three year tour, and i am reenlisting in january, how long will it take for me to get a school date and would i have to stay in germany for my full tour which would be another 2 years? Also, while in infantry training, do they ask you if you want to go airborne, or how would i go about getting airborne so i could be airbone infantry? PLEASE someone answer my question ASAP

You'll have your class date prior to you reenlisting. Your Career Counselor should have a few choices for 11B.

As for airborne, not sure if they will offer that while you are in AIT, but this would be somehting you could ask your new branch about.

You said that i would have a school date prior to me reenlisting, so should i ask my rentention NCO to tell me when that will be before i reenlist?

Your school date will be something you discuss before you re-enlist.

One note from your last post..."i feel like i am not doing my part so I need to get into infantry school ASAP"

Look, being an 11B has nothing to do with doing your part more than any other MOS. I love being an 11B, and it is great that you want to be all high speed, but if you are not "enough" of a soldier without being an 11B and a set of Jump Wings, you are not going to be enough with them.

11B's do as much crap work as anyone. At Bragg we do as much Post Clean-up as anywhere else. I have picked enough weeds in my 11B career, that when I retire, I am going to become a gardner.

Make sure being an 11B is what you want and you go into the experience with the right mindset.

Good Luck

TOO high speed for a desk job? Wow.

Way to smack the face of all the PAC-clerks here. I hope your 1610, DA31, orders, ERB changes, ect ect...are'nt being done by anyone who knows you posted that here.

(I have to ask)

So....Does being Infantry, make you a better soldier than, say a cook? How about a helicopter mechanic, a hummmmveee mechanic for that matter....what about the laundry and bath soldiers? ( lol, shout out to them) What about the MPs (smittaayy) the intel guys, and whatever it is that SFC W. aka AR, does? Just curious.

PS..shout out to the Amedd, while I'm on a roll. lol

Confused Roll Eyes Big Grin

Soldiers may doubt what you say, but they will believe what you do.

Yes, you'll complete your entire tour in Europe priot to PCSing. I hope this answers this quesiton (that you posted on many other posts).

Even though you're in a non-deployable part, you are probably filling a valid position. Wheather you are "doing your part" is completly up to you and your abilities.

You don't have to ask (unless this makes you feel better) about a class date, you Career Counselor will provide this to you BEFORE you sign a contract.

Really? Can you please provide a reference?

Also, are there stipulations for curtailment? Does a Soldier have to complete a certain portion of their tour? Can a Soldier on a 2-year overseas tour receive a cutailment?

And how often are curtailments approved by HRC?

Before you give Soldiers false hope, you may want to clarify your information.

Ok, Kiowa_Crewchief, you've had over an hour now so here's the deal ...

AR 614-30, Overseas Service, Chapter 5 is the regulatory guidance for Curtailments.

These are not commonly approved and you'll need to complete not less than 2/3 of your tour before gaining a COL's approval.

Will you get a curtailment for a reenlistment option of retraining? Doubtful, but I cannot say for 100% certainly that it won't get approved.

Advice: Ask a Career Counselor that is stationed in your area and they will have the most up-to-date local policy for curtailments.
