quote: now that i am about to reclass and im not promotable is this a good move? because i belived that i would have been sent to the board with my waiver for sergeant because my Squad leader tells me that, but since i'm leaving will it make it harder for me to get promoted once i get to my new unit?
First, talk to your retention NCO and he will tell you what options you have for reclassing and then you can decide if the (P) is good ro bad. If it's good...Go to the board the first chance you get! quote: I do all the right things im maxed out on Corrspondent Courses, I have about 43 total semester civilian education hours. what else should i focus on?
If you haven't already, focus on maxing the PT test and getting the highest possible in marksmanship. Maxing out on awards is kind of hard to try for. Me? I went to some SOM and SOQ boards, got an AAM for all the ones I won. That was an easy 45 promotion points. Plus you learn all the material for the actual board. (In my case, they knew I was SOQ, so they gave me a 150 and let me go). So being proactive in those aspects are beneficial, whether you think it is or not at the moment. Be sure you have your "I Love Me Book"in order! quote: plus i do plan on going to Drill Sergeant school myself. how can i get preped for that?
Read everything you can from this website and use ASG as a resource as well. There is so much information about being a DS on the internet. Good Luck
