I just recieved notice from my chain of command that they will support me going to DLI. They said that I just have to put in a 4187. Does anyone have an example of what it should look like? Also, will I be able to request/get my language of choice (Korean) with the 4187, or do I have to reenlist for that?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Are you outside of your 24-month reenlistment window?

Yes, I will enter my 24 month window on 13 Sep 08. I already recieved my B zone bonus (from a previous reenlistment), so I don't really care whether I reenlist or drop the 4187, which ever works.

Also, if for some reason the 4817 doesn't get approved before Sep 13th, but was already submtted will it still go through?

You can try the DA Form 4187 now (go through your servicing Career Counselor for assistance), but you will have more luck when your reenlistment window opens.

I am in a fenced unit, so I would still have to submit a 4187 for the AEA code change.
Actually, do I still have to do that with this 4187?
