Anyone have any ideas?? As an MP with little free time of my own, and knowing that shift PT is little to no help at all... looking for something a lil bit more helpful than suck it up and sacrifice all for the betterment of the army or some such....

Not sure what "shift PT" is but I'm guessing its doing PT after your shift?
Why not just go to the gym? That's what most of the MPs and aviation guys do when on shifts.
Hey if you need a little help in the PT department, just do a little while you are sitting around watching TV. You'd be surprised what you can get done if you did something inbetween commercials of your favorite shows.
All right, you may not like what I got for you, but here goes. Pick 3 days of the week, I use tuesday, thursday and saturday and take every other day off from any arms oriented PT - it only takes ten bloody minutes so you shouldnt have to worry if you're scrounging for time. Do 1 minute normal pushups followed by a 3 minute break. Do another 1 minute set of normal pushups followed by a 2 and a half minute break. Do 30 seconds of wide-arm pushups followed by a 2 minute break. Lastly, another set - 30 seconds of wide-arm pushups. Voila! you're done - ten minute arms. It works, believe me. Abs? What works for one soldiers may not work for the next I realize - but I just got one hundred and ten (110) crunch type things usually followed by two and a half minutes of flutter kicks - and you can up your flutter kicks at any time - just use time and do as many as you can in time alotted. Running? If you want to be real slick at running usually you have to do it about every day, but you can make it on every other day if you just don't have the time - just make it all count. Any chance you get go for the 4 and 5 mile runs - they're great because they build up such endurance that maxing two miles will be amazingly easy. Don't avoid hills either. Well thats enough out of me - I hope I helped somehow.
