I am a 35G in the National Guard. I went to FT Huachuca for AIT as a recalss soldier E-5. I left in Feb 07. When I was there Reclass students were on there own. We had to report for formation in the morning, and afternoon but other than that we did whatever. I did hear though that now reclass are treated like privates even if your an NCO. About the Job, its great. There are many oportunities, I have been up in a few birds to do disaster missions, and I have been to DC a few times in NGA. I have been in the intell field for 4 years now, and two as a 35G and I would change this MOS for anything. The others were right though, in my state there are only 2 slots for 35G E-4 and E-5 and thats it. Promotion is easy but not if you dont have a slot. Thats the only downfall. I work at BCT level.

I would like to know how long the course is for Soldiers reclassing under the BEAR program? I am a SSG with 9 years currently servicing as an instructor at The Army Aviation Logistics School who has applied for the BEAR. Will I live in Barracks, Government Quarters, or a Hotel? If the training is over twenty weeks it should be considered a PCS so will I have to move my family to Huachuca or to my follow on assignment? What is the wash rate for the school & what seems to be the biggest hurtle for Soldiers in this training?
