Is it just my little podunk installation or is there a reason we don't have "Hogan's Alley" training? This would be a good exercise to teach "shoot/don't shoot" skills(in my humble opinion).

Yeah that was based off of a real life civilian cop training exercise. Targets would pop up and move and you had to distinguish good guy/bad guy, shoot/don't shoot.

Most post's should have something of the sort. The one our unit currently uses is an EST or Engagement Skills Trainer. It is a big video game, they have several different scenarios that can be palyed out with a variety of weapons from the 9MM to MK-19. Basically, up tp 16 can participate at any one time. With this system you can practice basic marksmanship or destoying tanks with a LAW. One of the coolest toys the Army has for training.

Can you get me in contact with your training section on that?

WOW... I am surprised they don't have something setup for you at your base. I have been stationed there and it seemed they had everything else. I did a similar training event when I attended college. The items required were; a blank/white brick wall, a movie projector, a handgun and blank ammunition. It worked very well for what it was. Some people came out with a shocked look on their face after being killed or shooting the deaf person.
