Well lets start this out. I was an 11B for 4 years with all the hoo-aah schools and good guy badges. I wanted out because i didnt want to get ut of the Army with nothing. I re-classed to MP. Well the MP branch is one of the most deployable MOS's in the Army. We are also one of the smallest. We make up only 1.7% of the force. So you will get deployed, again and again. Our missions have a wide spectrum. We have a war mission as well as a peace time mission. During war, i know my unit, you will perform EPW camps, searches, house raids, and open land patrols: mounted and dismounted. We also established and trained the new Iraqi police system and recruits. During our peace time mission, we as a general support MP CO, we do get to work community law enforcement. But for the direct support MP CO's, they dont. Law enforcement duty is only a small part to what the MP's actually, but John Q. Public only sees us doing that. Our MOS is more like Cav or Mech Inf. S find an MP on your post and talk to them on their experiencies.
