You are allowed to talk to your Reserve Career Counselor once you are within 180 days from ETS. What kind of bonuses are you talking about? Reserve or Active?

Well, I am going to assume that this is a regular ETS and you have declined reenlistment. As far as schools are concerned, it depends on the job you choose in the reserve and the units funds. Most MOSs have up to $20,000 bonus (6 year commitment) or $10,000 (3 year commitment). Depending on your ASVAB score and MOS, you may be eligible for $10,000 Student Loan Repayment (3 year commitment). You will also be offered a 24 month mobilization Deferment and possibly a MSO reduction. This can take up to 2 years off of your MSO! I highly suggest you take the stabilization, especially if you plan to go to school. After that you have the standard benefits of Tricare Reserve Select, Dental plan, 100% Tuition Assistance, ect. Where are you looking to move to after you ETS?
