I have a class date for 35M in August 08. I have yet to attend BNCOC for my current MOS of 25F. I think I recall reading in a MILPER message that if you have completed BNCOC, you will be placed in an accelerated course. I have tried to look for this message again and can't find it. Can anyone shed some light on this subject?
Another question: I understand that 35M is no longer a language required MOS, but on the Branch Newsletter page, it states that it is a re-enlistment incentive (as of May 07).Because I enrolled in the BEAR program, am I eligible for this since I have not re-enlisted yet? I am sure that things will probably change before I am in my window after I graduate, but wanted to see if anyone had some insight here. Might need to ask branch that question.
I can't quite give you sound advice or information here. I am in the same boat (15T SSG). I waived my BNCOC off when I reclassed because I felt I would be better trained by going to the 35M BNCOC. I am in the same class as you starting 29 AUG. There is a BNCOC class that starts just short of a month after our class ends in FEB. I asked about this class and they said most likely we would go to our units and come back TDY for the course. I tried to argue the point of leaving me there being economically advantageous, but it is an OML issue.
As for the accelerated course. I remember it being only for those in the Special Recruiting Program. And it isn't really accelerated, it is actually longer, but they give you either the Source Ops or Strategice Briefing course in the class. A bit more to get you out the door and deployed.
I should refer you to 35M3L00PF. He is on this forum and is at Huachuca. I think he is on a MTT right now. If your on here man, could you chime in on this. Bump to you.
Email me if you want to exchange any other ideas about this. We can share what inof we have as of yet.

Yep, whereas a language used to be part of our training, it is now just an incentive for reenlistment. There is a group of us who joined for this MOS with an extra year on our contract to make room for going to california and learning it. Then they nixed the class but left the year.
But hey, enough bitterness from me. I've seen reenlisters getting their language in this MOS, so there's a pretty good chance you can. The person who's butt you need to crawl up is your local reenlistment nco (I forget the official title) and have him get that info for you.
