There are really only three jobs in the Army that utilize languages (on the enlisted side). There really isn't a big need for German Interrogators, so I've only seen National Guard or Reserve 97Es. There's also 98G, but once again, I haven't seen any RA 98Gs. The other is PSYOPS. 37F I think. Thing about German is that there really isn't a hostile populace out there that speaks German... so... you can connect the dots here. There are plenty of native German speakers in the Army so it's not really an essential language. Besides, a lot of German speakers are stationed in Germany so there's not a lot of call for recruiting new peeps who can speak German.

Any of this make sense? Hope that helps some.

I don't know what MOS you can get with either of those, but what you can count on is that regardless what MOS you choose you can still take the test to become a German interpreter (thats in addition to your MOS) and possibly get anywhere from $150-$300 dollars extra a month for having that ability. Maybe someone else can clarify more but hope this helps.

Take a look into the 25 series MOS. There's signal and some computer things in there. Here's something for you to check out. Wish I would've known about this thing before I chose my MOS

Can't get money for German unless you're in a coded language slot. German is not considered essential. Right now the focus is (obviously) Arabic etc.
