You gotta remember, shift workers have a completely different view of the army and daily life. All they see is what happens during shift, and that's about it. They don't always get the same info that people who work M-F get.

Anybody still interested in hearing about Fort Carson? I only stayed there for two months before I deployed, but as far as the post goes, it's nice. There are the usual creature comforts PX commissary library, etc. There's a car wash that seems to be packed 24 hours a day :P CO Springs is a nice town as far as Army towns go, not trashy at all. Lots of outdoorsy stuff to do if that's yo cup o tea. And Denver is a very short drive Smiler

nurdt01 or anyone,

I know this is an old posting but I have to ask...

There is only one MP company at Carson? I heard there was a Battalion worth. I'm at Polk and will be heading to Carson, I hope.

Do you guys go through all the cycles(Red, Amber, Green)monthly? Do yuo share the road duty with DA Cops?

I left Ft Carson in 2001 when there was two Combat Support MP COs (984th and 59th), one Law & Order Det (149th) and they all fell under the 759th MP BN. There was also a plattoon from the 4ID MP CO. From what I hear now is that they are still all there other than for deployments, but the rest of the 4ID MP CO should be there soon. As for being k9 there, I was K9 and got stuck in a line company because nobady in the K9 section PCSed, they just kind of stay there.

I'm experiencing the same situation here at Ft Sill. Apparrently they are grossly overloaded with handlers, so even thought I'm straight outta school, I'm being sent to the line to forget everything I've learned in the last 4 months. Blahhhh.... oh well, maybe they'll let me waste my time in SRT or something...
