Then why tell everyone here you have the list when you obviously can tell there are people looking for their names? If it's such a big deal that you keep quiet about then, than maybe you should have done just that.

I'm going on 15 years TIS, 4 TIG, have a bachelor's degree (from a university that has a physical campus and is part of a state university system - not knocking the eArmyU guys), ANCOC, been an AIT instructor, been a drill, and currently a platoon sergeant.
It's like "SSG WHO?" when it came to my name being put on the list. I know I had ONE not-so-nice NCOER, but I have the ones that show I was a successful (read: I was NEVER under ANY investigation or had my name come across the BN CO's desk in a negative manner) drill sergeant - including winning brigade Drill Sergeant of the Month board, an operations sergeant, and an instructor.
But a guy who was in ANCOC with me with almost half my years got picked up. He was a drill, but the thing that put him over the top (in MY mind) was that he had been deployed.
Before anyone says crap, I was never under any stop-loss or stop-movement orders even after I reenlisted a month before 9/11 (and my old unit at Campbell ended up deploying about 3-6 months after my report date, in fact stop-loss/movement didn't kick in until April), nor was I denied DS school because I was to be PCSed to a deploying unit.
If you want E-7, get deployed. If you're lucky, you'll be able to pin it on. With my luck, it'll be posthumonous.

Just my two cents to start some $#!+

I was told that the army likes promoting guys with less TIS because it costs less money for the Army to do so. Rather than have to pay E6 15 years to E7 15 years. Its cheaper to go E6 to E7 7-8 years. Also you as an E6 will still make more than what he is making as an E7. If you think about how many younger SSG are getting promoted over older SSG somebody is saving a lot of money

Well this is my first time been looked at and I still haven't hear anything yet. I know that I might not get it because I haven't been deploy yet but I guess I will have to wait until my CSM decide to tell me the bad news. Unless someone that have seen the list can tell me before my CSM?

There are plenty of us who have been deployed, have college, etc. that did not make it. Life goes on. Congrats to all who did get picked up. Oh yeah, I saw the list yesterday as well.

Rub some dirt on it

How long does it takes for the CSM to tell the SSG if they make it or not? I'm not currently with my unit, I'm attached to another unit and I worked with Civilians. My immediate supervisor is a civilian and he on leave and my senior enlisted supervisor is the Garrison CSM, I'm pretty sure he is busy with other stuff. I just wondering who is the one that will notify my. is it my Unit CSM or is it my supervisor?

I doubt that's true considering Uncle Sam is already spending over $12,000,000,000 per day in Iraq.

No, that would be 4.38 trillion a year!

Considering the 2008 defense bill (the largest ever) is worth 648 billion, with 141.8 billion of that allocated to war related funding...this guy obviously spends too much time looking at pro-clinton (btw, i'm a dem) websites.
