It's not all bad. You may see I complain in some of my other post but thats only on the day to day things. Things here are done somewhat **s backwards. And you're going to 10th SG (lmao), good luck with that. That unit is NCO HEAVY, especially at E6 & E7. The 1SG, CSM & Group Cmdr are good people though. I get to interact with them on a day to day basis. Even though there are many things for single soldiers to do, this place was MADE for married soldiers. The schools are on Kadena & I believe there's one on Camp Foster (Marine base)..COLA should be around $750-$8000 bucks....You can either live off base or on base at either Kadena AFB or Camp Foster...Living off base expect to have all your OHA sucked up by the landlords. They base your rent off your rank (ex. E6 gets $1700..they charge them $1700 for rent, kinda shady). This place, Hooah.??? lol that was funny. It'll probably be cheaper for you & your spouse to buy a car a piece instead of a SUV considering roads are small as hell and the price of gas over here...It's not very hard to extend but why would you in a unit thats so NCO heavy? What's your MOS and I can tell you exactly what section you'll probably be working in. Shoot me your email addy and I'll send some info that you can't get from online sources.
