AH you made it through the painful process? They have about a 70% attrition rate is the last I know. I'm still trying to get a school date. EOD recruiters are taking their sweet time, though!

Ah but I didn't explain further. I was told the attrition rate is due largely to the "hoppin" night life around eglin, and the EOD hopefuls not studying. Also I was told by a buddy who opted out after a few months that a lot of recruits up and quit after they learn EOD isn't blowing stuff up willy nilly like.

i really appreciate your input "eatyourface" i think i will be good at it so i hope i do alright. now that i actually have a school date i kinda feel like i have the same feeling when i was coming into the army in the beginning. 70% is pretty high........ im not the smartest tool in the box but i am very mechanically inclined for some reason and i hope its alot of hands on type stuff like that.

the eod recruiter told me 33% but ten percent are people that just fuck up discipline wise and the other 22% just cant get it or decide they dont want to.

anybody can blow stuff up, it takes skill to keep things from blowing up...

EOD school is what you make it. It isn't easy but look at all the people who have made it through...it is doable. Just remember what you are there for and save the partying until you are done.

I recently graduated from Redstone which is where you will do your first phase of EOD passing grade is 85% on all tests. Get ready for a lot of class time as your evenings will be spent in studyhall as its mandatory. Sun - Thurs. thats about all I know as I am not EOD but have friends that passed on and went on to Eglin...

I am one of the fail outs at EOD school. Yes it is a very hard school. If you are used to getting a lot of info in one day and think testing on it the next day, you will have problems. They say if you are really smart or really dumn you will not make it. Good luck and have fun.
