Ok my fat % is 36 I did a tape test and because I have big hips my fat is too high any suggestions? I found online that I could take an ARMs test with that 36% bt I'm not real sure I'm 5'5 1/2.

The ARMS test is no longer being used.

How far off the maximum weight limit are you? From my experience as a Recruiter, females who were over the weight limit were in most cases over the body fat limit. If you're not that far off, continue to work out and eat healthy.

Honest....simple advice. STOP DRINKING FULL STRENGTH SODAS AND FRUIT JUICE!!!

I am not the lean machine I used to be but I have always met and exceeded the standards by doing moderate exercise and only drinking water or Diet only soda.

There are 3500 calories in 1 pound of fat. There are approx 150 calories in 1 can of soda.

Now if Nikki2790 woofs down 3 BIG gigantosauras glasses of juice, cool aid, or regular cola (wait you are from TX so Sweet tea TOO!!!!!!!) a day (which usually has 3 servings) then you do the math. No I am waiting DO the MATH! An easy 450 calories a day.

Now extrapolate that by a week.

Now extrapolate that by a month!!!

You are fat because you drink juice, full strength (non-diet) cola, or super sweet tea!!

I hate to rant but I recruited for almost 4 years and every single potential Soldier with a weight issue always had the same problem. Change this easy simple facet of your life and reap the benefits.

And DON'T start drinking diet soda instead. Water is better for you.

I don't drink soda, I don't like koolaid, I drink cranberry juice once a month, and caffeine is a downer for me so I don't drink a lot of tea I love it but I don't drink a lot of it just one cup a week. I'm always drinking water because I have kidney stones sometimes. I can lose the weight with more excercise and eatting more than once a day. And yes I cut fast food out completely.

As someone who has lost a lot of weight...from 235(FATTTTT) down to 180. I currently sit at about 188 because I hit the weights a lot...ok shameless bragging done with.....

2 things you have to do...diet and work

Stay away from the any crazy method of weight loss, just simple counting of calories and posibly carbs. Figure out your body weight and multiply that by ten. when I was 200 pounds I figured I needed between 1600 and 2000 calories a day. Now just subtract a little from that to start losing weight gradually. I went down to about 1300-1500 calories per day and 100-120 carbs per day and I shed pounds quickly. If you are excercising a lot you can increase you intake a little. Split your meals into several small meals...I ate 6 to 8 times per day, about 3 hours apart.

As for the work part, just get out there and run, get in the gym and hit the eliptical. Do not go overboard, 95 minute cardio sessions can actually be counter productive. Some days I would run for 45 minutes, others I would do HIIT training(Sprint/Walk type) for 10-15 minutes.

and like everyone said above..DRINK WATER
Water helps you flush fat cells from your body.

I will put it to you this way... 1% of body fat is equal to about 3 lbs. So for every percent that you are over you should lose 3 lbs of weight.
