You should hear me in person. I project an aura of bitterness with an everwidening radius.

I can only imagine the "hate the Army plague" that you spread throughout your unit.

What caused you to be so damn bitter?

originally posted by 13 bang bang Field Artillery is an option. I am a Field Artillery Soldier and as far as what you would do over in Iraq or Afganistan, it all depends on what job in the Field Artilley you hold. 13B (cannon crewmember), 13D (Automated Fire Direction Support Specialist), 13F (Forward Observer), 13M (MLRS HIMARS Crewmember), 13P (MLRS FDC) have a higher probability of getting tasked with convoy security missions which would have you outside the wire. You could also end up doing these jobs as well but the need for cannon artillery and missile artillery has deminished in recent years do to the mass civilian casualties it has the possibility of producing in urban areas. 13S (Surveyor), 13R (Radar) would give you a better chance of doing your job while over there, but will not guarantee that you will not be placed in harms way. Understand that you are looking at the war and combat through civilian eyes and have not yet been trained. Army training will prepare you for the ins and outs of the combat environment and give you the confidence in yourself so that you will be able to perform your duties while engaged in combat operations. If these jobs seem a little much, than I suggest that you consider a non combat arms job such as 42A, 92Y, 63B or any of the construction type jobs that are in the 21 series. These jobs in nature play more of a support type role, but any job you chose has a chance of putting you in the middle of a firefight. Just ask an Army recruiter for details about these jobs and to see if you qualify.

i agree with ya i have been deployed 3 times as an artillary man and everytime i have deployed i have gone outside the wire pretty much everyday. i have done PSD one deployment and the other two i have done nothin but kick in doors and walkin the streets.

BOOM ARTILLARY!!
