Best base and area for single soldiers in the reserves??

I am leaving the active duty component for the reserves and I have no idea where I want to go. I was told that my MOS is in demand so I am pretty much needed everywhere. My only problem is that I don't know what post I would like to go to. Here's the situation I'm in.

-I'm a 21 year old single soldier
-I'm a female specialist
-I've been stationed on Fort Bliss for 4 years and I'm sick of it
-I used to live in California and Georgia and have no desire to live there again.
-I want to go to school for Criminal Justice and I would like to be in the class instead of online.
-I would like to find an apartment close to base but I like to do a lot of research on the area and look at the apartment myself. I have no idea where to look for that.

That's pretty much it. I have to give the recruiter my answer next week. Thanks for your help.

You can look on apartmentratings.com for places and Virginia is a pretty nice place.

What is your MOS?

What do you mean by 'close to base'?

Army Reserve considers normal commuting distance to be about 50 miles. There are plenty of Reserve units within 50 miles of a college with a criminal justice program.

Are you looking to be close to an active installation? If so, why?

88M, 37F, anything CMF 35 are high demand MOSs. You're not going to find a single USAR position for them within 150 miles of Hays, KS.

This is a ten level task

Don't base your decision on the best base but where you want to live. More than likely your Reserve unit won't be on an Army post or other military base and often no where near the nearest Exchange or Commissary.

I live on the coast of Southern California. Why would you want to live anywhere else? Smiler
