Although, you will definately be delayed in reporting to Initial Active Duty for Training (IADT), which is comprised of Basic Combat Training (BCT) and Advanced Individual Training (AIT), the Army Reserves does not have a DEP.
When/On the day you join the Army Reserves, you become part of that Component from day 1. This means there is no delay and are subsequently entitled to pay for a drill weekend even before you leave for Basic Training.

SSG Ortiz is correct, I am not a reserve Soldier but am on ACRC assignment and occasionally pop in here to see what is going on. The Reserves has the Delayed Training Program (DTP) instead of the DEP. Unlike a DEP Soldier DTP's assess into the Army Reserve the day they sign the contract. This differs from a DEP in that being a Reservist you SHOULD report to your unit as soon as possible to initiate your Basic Active Service date and PBED (date pay starts). As far as preparing for Initial Entry Training (BCT, AIT) your Recruiters and your Unit should be prepping you to go. Make them train and prepare you, it will only make basic that much easier. Good luck.
